Meet the Veterinarians & Staff
Of Northgate Animal Hospital

Jack Brown, BS/DVM

Jack Brown attended North Carolina State University and majored in animal science. After his undergraduate studies, he attended the University of Georgia, receiving his DVM in 1974.

Upon graduation, Dr. Brown worked in private practice in eastern North Carolina. After several years, he returned to his hometown of Fayetteville to start his own practice, Northgate Animal Hospital, in 1978. He enjoys many aspects of the veterinary profession, including surgery, ultrasonography, exotics, and avian medicine.

Dr. Jack Brown is married to Janice and together they have six children and many grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, going to the beach, and playing golf.

Dale Brown, BS/DVM

Dale Brown graduated from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001 after receiving his BS from North Carolina State in 1996. Upon graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Dale came back to his hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina, to join his father in practice at Northgate Animal Hospital. His interests include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, minimally invasive surgery, internal medicine, and dentistry.

Dr. Dale is married to Mandy and together they have two children, Emily and Will. When not working, Dr. Dale enjoys spending time with family, running, snow skiing, and golf.

Jenny Rodriguez, BS/DVM

Jenny is originally from Greenville, South Carolina, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina in 1993. Upon graduation, she moved to Winston-Salem and worked in a small animal practice before entering veterinary school. Upon graduation from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Jenny returned to Winston-Salem and worked with close friends in a small animal practice. She moved to Fayetteville in 2005 and has been working at Manchester Animal Hospital ever since. She enjoys many aspects of the veterinary profession but takes special interest in dermatology, dentistry, and feline internal medicine.

When not at the hospital, Dr. Jenny enjoys working on her farm, which includes taking care of many animals such as chickens, goats, sheep, donkeys, a pot-bellied pig, rabbits, and, yes, dogs and cats too. Also, she is an avid North Carolina Tarheels fan and enjoys attending any of their sporting events. Dr. Jenny and Dr. Dale have yet to settle their rivalry between State and Carolina, and probably never will.

Veterinary Staff of Northgate Animal Hospital

Barbara B.—Kennel Manager

My name is Barb and I am the Northgate Kennel Manager. I have worked at Northgate Animal Hospital for 10 years. I have a wonderful (and crazy) 1-year-old pit bull named Gibbs. I love all animals, especially dogs and horses. In my spare time, I enjoy watching CSI and Criminal Minds and reading books.

Wendy C.—RVT, Technician

My name is Wendy and I have been working at Northgate for 5 years, first in the kennel and then as a technician. I will be going to vet school in the fall of 2010. I have three cats, Jenna, Mittens, and Xena, and three dogs, Tiger, Coco, and Penny. I have recently started riding horses, which I do almost every weekend. I also enjoy reading and surfing the Internet.

Michelle W.—RVT, Technician

Hello! My name is Michelle, and I am a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). I received my formal technician education in Washington State. After serving 10 years in the Army, I have transitioned to civilian life, where I am pursuing my passion in veterinary medicine. I grew up around horses but enjoy working with any and all animals. I hope to further my career by specializing as a technician in the internal medicine field. I live with my amazing husband and “our zoo,” which consists of a horse, three dogs, three cats, and one fish.

Christian W.—Receptionist

My name is Christian and I have been working at Northgate Animal Hospital for nearly 2 years. I work as a receptionist, as well as fill in where needed. I have two dogs and a cat. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling, and watching Ghost Hunters.

Erin—Veterinary Assistant

I’m Erin and I have been at Northgate Animal Hospital for a year. I work in the kennel and I love to take care of the animals, although if I see a snake I’m long gone. I have a kitty cat named Buffy. I enjoy hanging out with friends, especially at MiCasita’s. I also enjoy reading and teasing the rest of my coworkers.

Jennifer E.—Receptionist

My name is Jennifer, also known as Jenn. I am fairly new here to Northgate Animal Hospital and work as a receptionist. I grew up with dogs all my life, but my husband and I finally got a puppy of our own last year while overseas. I enjoy singing, piano, photography, and traveling.

Meredith J.—Kennel Assistant

My name is Meredith and I have been working at Northgate Animal Hospital since the beginning of 2009. I started my career volunteering. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I also like to play with my dog, Kadie; cat, Flower; and the other small animals I own.
